A tab keeps a bill open for a table or a name, so you can add rounds and take payment later.
- On the point of sale, tap Tabs at the top, then New tab.
- Choose A table or A name, and tap Open tab. A table that's already open joins its tab.
- Add items as you would a quick sale, and tap Send round.
- Only items from menus that send orders to the kitchen go to the kitchen.
- Guests at the table can order and pay their share in the app. The tab updates by itself.
- Open tabs shows each tab, who opened it and what's owed.
Changing a tab
- Take off the tab: tap the bin on a line and give a reason. Once the kitchen has started it, a manager approves.
- Move: move the tab to a free table, or Merge it into another tab.
- Some lines moves part of the tab to another one, before anyone has paid.
Paying
| Way | What it does |
|---|---|
| Whole tab | Takes everything that's left. |
| By item | Put a line, or some of it (two of three beers), on someone's bill, or share it between people. |
| Evenly | Splits what's left in equal parts. Undo the split puts it back. |
| An amount | Any part payment. Take as many as you need. |
The tab closes when nothing's left to pay. Tabs need signal; quick sales still work without it.
Tabs still open after 4 AM
These are flagged, carry into the next day, and show in the end-of-day report. If nobody will pay, tap Carried over: write it off?, give a reason and ask a manager. It counts as a walk-out.
