Some actions need a manager's OK. The manager picks their name on the tablet and enters their PIN.
What needs one
| Action | Approval |
|---|---|
| Undoing a sale, a refund, a giveaway | On by default. Each can be switched off. |
| Money out of the drawer, opening it with no sale | On by default. Each can be switched off. |
| Closing a shift that's over or short by more than you allow | Off by default. Switch it on and set the amount. |
| Taking a line off a tab after the kitchen started it | Always. |
| Writing off a tab, reopening a signed-off day | Always. |
How it works
- Tap Ask a manager. The manager picks their name and enters their 6-digit PIN.
- The approval is for the amount and items shown. It can't be used for more.
- It works once, and only for 2 minutes.
- Anyone with the Manager role, or who runs the business, can approve.
- Approvals need signal.
Settings and the log
- Switch approvals on or off on the dashboard's Point of sale tab, under Locking and approvals.
- The Approvals log on the same tab lists every undo, refund, giveaway and approval: who asked, who approved, why and how much.
- Filter it by person, and download it as CSV.
